Goolwa Steam day joint excursion with RGSQ - FULLY BOOKED

Steam on Steam and the Murray Mouth including Cockle train and Oscar W

The Royal Queensland Geographical Society will be visiting SA on 1 May 2026 for a 5-day voyage on the paddle steamer Proud Mary on the River Murray. On the Saturday 2 May there will be a special day excursion to the historic River Port Goolwa to celebrate the era of steam that provided vital links in the early colonial period. The RGSSA is invited to join this day Excursion with Royal Queensland Geographical Society members including;

  • Coach Tour from Adelaide to Victor Harbour,
  • Cockle Steam Train to Goolwa, view the new Goolwa Wharf Precinct Interpretive Centre,
  • Two hour cruise on the Oscar W, one of the last steam driven paddle boats on the lower Murray,
  • Drive to Hindmarsh Island for Murray Mouth viewing and return to Adelaide via Mc Laren Vale.
