The Many Loves of Geoffrey Dutton

A film by Rob George

Following the lecture on Anlaby on 18 September, and preceding a visit to Anlaby on 24 September, this award winning film about the last Patriarch of Anlaby will be shown.

This film exposes some of the background story of one of the most controversial of the Dutton dynasty which founded Anlaby Station in 1839.

Winner of Best Biographical Film at the 2024 New York International Film Awards. Dutton made his mark as a writer, poet, publisher, and founder of the Adelaide Festival and Writer’s Week. The film challenges the reputation of one of Australia’s great arts figures. Features interviews with family and friends, and home movies from the 1940s to the 80s.
